Getting the content right for your website

Most of us are not writers; we would probably freely agree, so when it comes to writing something important like the content of your website, you either do your best, give the job to someone else or keep putting it off until you finally do one of the first two choices. It is probably the most important part of your website, over the design in fact. If you are going to spend good money on a website, then save a decent proportion of those funds for the content side of things. Why is the website…See More

Wondering why you aren’t getting much website traffic?

What is Search engine optimization? Also known as SEO, it is the art of making your website more likely to appear in search results for a particular word or phrase, enabling your site to receive more valuable traffic. It is also known as the “organic” Google listings rather than the paid search listings. In other words, the free, main list on the left side of the Google search page, as everything on the right, costs money. Why do I need it?Each time someone puts a search term into Google, the…See More

So your website isn’t getting you the results you want?

How come? Well, it’s usually due to either one or both of these things:• You don’t get enough traffic• You don’t convert the traffic that does come into sales or leads.Give it the kick up the website butt it needs! If you are not showing up on the first 3 search pages of Google for your particular search phrase, you’re toast.Blue Banana is running a course entitled “Maximising Your Website” which covers:• Using the right domain name. Just lost all of my ramblings, so here goes again. Blue Banana is all about the online world, but in particular, getting more from your website. The blog is more business in general, what has got up my nose this week, or great snippets I have come…

Review your interuptions

Most of us subscribe to either blogs or newsletters in some way shape or form, many of which find their way in to your email box every morning. If you are like me, you will first delete the spam offering pills for this and that, then browse through the blog posts that you subscribe to. If they haven’t grabbed my attention in the first paragraph, they are gone, delete, goodbye.Recently I have noticed that there are actually only a couple that inspire me any more, or I get some worth out of. So your website isn’t getting you the results you want. Bring on the SEO!

So your website isn’t getting you the results you want. Bring on the SEO!
Why isn't it getting you the results, after all you paid good money for it?

It’s usually due to either one or both of these things:

You don’t get enough traffic
You don’t convert the traffic that does come for whatever reason.
All is not lost, there are things that can be done to change it and get your website working. Give it a kick up the website butt that it needs!

Search engine optimisation and search engine marketing are phrases that can be heard quite regularly now and simply mean either getting traffic to your website naturally or by buying paid searches using things like Google Adwords.

There are lots of ways to make your website search friendly to the Google robots, not forgetting the other search engine robots, which will get you more visitors. If you are not showing up on the first 3 search pages of Google for a particular phrase, you’re toast.

Most of the techniques are very easy to achieve, if you know what to do. We do.

At the risk of offending all of the web developers and designers out there, they know how to build a great looking website with all the bells and whistles, but that is usually it. Unfortunately, Google and the other search engines don’t search by pretty pictures or Flash images, but by good old fashioned words and phrases. If the correct ones are not present in your site, your page won’t be picked by Google to match the search term that someone is searching for. It’s that simple. But do you know which search terms to use or are you just guessing?

If this is the case for your website, and you think that you need to get it search engine optimised, then click this link to get in contact with us for search engine optimisation as soon as possible. From there, we will look at your site, decide what needs doing, give you a quote, and it’s over to you to decide what to do. Couldn’t be simpler could it?

If you don’t know what can be achieved and for how much, how can you make a decision?

An Interesting Funeral

This great story is taken from a recent post by Tom Asacker

One day, the employees of a very unusual company reached their office and saw a big sign on the main door which said:

"Yesterday, the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym."

In the beginning, they all… Continue

Which came first, the dress or the egg?

Last week, I had the pleasure of being in the same company as Colyn Devereux-Kay, known for the “Egg Maternity” brand and Annah Stretton, known for “Annah S“. It was during one of our local Her Business networking events at TelstraClear events Centre in Manukau, for which Annah is the founder.

The main speaker for the evening was Colyn, talking about how she started from the basement of her home as a single mum… Continue

In for a quicky?

A bit unusual for me, but this post is a bit personal. You see, last week Paul was in hospital for a routine knee operation, having some ligaments repaired. He was only going to be in over night and a couple of weeks off work to get some rest.

We arrived at the agreed time, feeling a little anxious, and because of a delay with another patient, Paul was pretty much taken straight down. No time for trying to get calm, straight into it.

The disconcerting bit was when the surgeon… Continue
